Artificial Flowers for Graves

Artificial grave flowers are silk or fabric arrangements designed to stay outdoors on a grave or memorial for 6–12 months without watering, wilting, or maintenance. Made well, they keep a loved one’s resting place looking cared for between visits — through frost, rain, and summer sun.

Handmade artificial memorial flowers in black grave vases for Sister, Brother, Husband and Daughter

Not everyone can visit as often as they’d like. Life, distance, and health get in the way — but the wish to see the grave looking loved never does. That’s why we make these.

Every arrangement is handcrafted in our Bromley studio from premium UV-treated silk, built into weighted pots and secured bases so it stays exactly where you place it. We hand-deliver across London, Kent, and Surrey, and post carefully packaged arrangements throughout the UK.

Fresh, Silk or Plastic? An Honest Comparison

Fresh flowers Premium silk (ours) Cheap plastic
Looks natural Yes — for 3–7 days Yes — for months Rarely
Lasts outdoors Under a week 6–12 months 12+ months but fades badly
Maintenance Water, clear away weekly None None
Weather resistance Poor UV-treated, weighted Brittle in frost, blows away
Cost over a year £200–£400+ £40–£90 (1–2 arrangements) £20–£40
Cemetery acceptance Always Widely accepted* Increasingly discouraged

*Some Church of England churchyards restrict artificial flowers — see FAQ below.

We’ll be honest: fresh flowers are wonderful for the funeral itself. But for the months and years afterwards, well-made silk is the kindest option — for you, and for the grave.

Choosing the Right Arrangement for the Memorial

Unsure what fits? Send us a photo of the memorial and we’ll recommend the right size and base — no charge, no obligation.

Made by Hand, Built for British Weather

Every arrangement leaves our studio finished by hand: stems individually wired, blooms UV-treated to slow fading, bases weighted or spiked for stability. We test our builds outdoors through Kent winters — if an arrangement can’t hold its colour and its footing from November to March, we don’t sell it.

In sheltered spots our flowers often look beautiful for a year or more. In exposed cemeteries, we recommend a refresh every 6–9 months to keep colours at their best.

Our promise: if an arrangement arrives damaged or loses its shape within 30 days, we replace it. No quibbles.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do artificial flowers last on a grave?

Premium silk flowers typically keep their colour outdoors for 6–12 months, depending on sun exposure and weather. UV-treated blooms in sheltered positions can last longer. Many families refresh arrangements twice a year — spring and autumn — so the grave always feels current.

Are artificial flowers allowed in cemeteries?

Most UK council cemeteries allow them. Some Church of England churchyards restrict artificial flowers or permit them only around Christmas and Remembrance. Check with the cemetery office or parish first — and if there are restrictions, tell us: we can suggest arrangements that usually meet them.

Will the flowers blow away in bad weather?

Ours won’t easily — arrangements are built into weighted pots, spiked bases, or secured floral foam designed for outdoor use. For very exposed sites, choose our potted or spiked builds, which are the most storm-stable.

Are artificial grave flowers tacky?

Cheap plastic ones can be — and that’s the reputation the whole category unfairly carries. Well-made silk flowers are difficult to tell from fresh at arm’s length, and they never sit brown and wilted on the grave. What looks uncared-for isn’t artificial flowers; it’s dead ones.

Can you make an arrangement in my loved one’s favourite colours or flowers?

Yes. Most arrangements can be made bespoke — their favourite colours, the flowers from their garden, or the bloom they always wore. Tell us about them and we’ll make something that’s theirs.

How much do artificial grave flowers cost compared to fresh?

A quality silk arrangement costs £20–£60 and lasts months. Fresh flowers at £15–£30 a week add up to several hundred pounds a year. Over twelve months, silk typically costs 70–85% less.

Do you deliver directly to the cemetery?

We deliver to your home so you can place the flowers personally — most families tell us that moment matters. For cemeteries local to Bromley, we can sometimes arrange placement on your behalf; contact us to discuss.

How do I clean artificial grave flowers?

A gentle rinse with water and a soft brush lifts dust and residue. Avoid harsh cleaners, which can dull silk petals. A two-minute clean during a visit keeps an arrangement looking fresh for months longer.
